Thanksgiving Day

When I was growing up, Thanksgiving Day meant dinner at 5 o’clock. We ate cooked turkey and ham, gravy, mash potatoes, sweet potato casserole with marshmellows, green bean casserole with crunchy onion bread crumbs, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. That’s as traditional as it comes. We set the dining-room table in the living room with the tablecloth and china, instead of using the table in the kitchen where we usually ate. My brothers and sisters, and their families would come over and spend the day.
